Duhovka is a preschool where children acquire the most important skills for life: a love of learning, independent thinking, joy in working, desire to explore the world, willingness to help others, the ability to ask for help, and the skills to resolve conflicts in a respectful manner.
Duhovka Preschool has been in operation since 2008. It is a member of the American Montessori Society and is part of a comprehensive Czech-English Montessori system spanning from preschool through high school graduation.
The teachers at Duhovka are united by a kind approach to children, a genuine interest in each child, and professional expertise. Our teachers have completed a three-year, AMS-accredited Montessori training program and gained a wealth of experience working with young children.
Children can choose activities in accordance with the rules and their stage of development.

Thanks to a larger number of teachers, children have the space to explore the world at their own pace.
Children want to touch everything and use objects. This helps them understand the world and develop their thinking and speech.
In every classroom, Czech- and English-speaking teachers are with the children all day long. English is a natural part of games, Montessori activities, and everyday situations.´The children first listen to the language and gradually begin to understand it, respond to it, and use it themselves. Thanks to regular exposure, English becomes a natural means of communication for them.
The preschool is located in a villa with a beautiful Montessori equipped garden. The children spend several hours a day outdoors in almost any weather.

You’ll find us in a quiet part of Prague’s Střešovice neighborhood, in a carefully renovated villa. The bright, well-appointed classrooms are designed for focused work as well as daily exploration, and they open onto a spacious green garden with Montessori elements, where the children spend time every day.
