Ceramics

Children freely form their own compositions from a piece of clay; they use cookie cutters to cut various shapes such as animals or toy cars, and create clay images that they then decorate with stamps, needle marks or many other tools. Children mostly create according to their imagination; it is their time that is respected. The lecturer only slightly enters into the children´s formation of ideas and at the same time monitors their art growth and progress of their fine motor skills. After the clay shapes have been baked, children decorate them by colours as they wish and like. Their beautiful work was very appreciated during an art exhibition in Pisecká brána, featuring work of all children from the Duhovka School .

Yoga

Yoga brings children joy and exercise, gives them self-confidence, firmer and healthier body, which they learn to perceive. Yoga also builds self-respect and respect to their environment, teaches them harmony. Lively children calm down and these who are less dynamic become more active. The exercise encourages imagination supported by music, songs, nursery rhymes and pictures. Children “travel” around the world. Discover new planets, become animals, magicians and sprites. It brings them a natural ability of self-expression through harmonic exercises.

Music and dance - Kozlovská

Children sing children's songs combined with a playful explanation of the text. Through various games they learn musical knowledge, such as tempo, dynamics and musical terminology (note, accidentals, clef, etc..).  Children learn to keep rhythm through different games and play on simple rhythmical instruments with the support of children's songs and rhymes.

Judo

Baby judo is playfully trying to awaken in children a natural relationship with the sport. The content of a lesson is one of general training, in which children learn basic motor skills. Through simple gymnastic exercises, basic judo techniques, the ability to cooperate with peers and to follow the instructions of a lecturer, children successfully acquire the basics of Judo with respect to its traditional etiquette. http://www.judoprodeti.cz/ms-duhovka

Flute

Children learn to breathe properly, to hold an instrument correctly and vocalize. They easily learn names of notes and flute grips. Altogether we will play simple children's songs with a support of lyrics and music. Playing flute is also very beneficial for children with respiratory problems.

Drama

The main content of the drama group will be games and creative exercises that will teach children the basic principles of theatre. Games and exercises will be focused on the development of children´s voices, awareness of their own body, rhythm, and imagination. Within the lessons we will instruct in a natural way that is playful and entertaining that develops creativity, fantasy, improvisation, and the ability to work in a group, or with a partner. We will try to overcome any fears or stage fright when performing. We will finish the lessons with a short play or a lecture demonstration for parents.

Lego Academy

LEGO Education is the activity that helps children develop their knowledge about the Earth, the universe and mathematics. Using the special LEGO Education sets, children also hone the most important life skills such as communication and creativity and they also support their social and emotional skills significantly. They gain experience with problem-solving, they develop an ability to concentrate and enhance their patience. The children will start exploring areas such as science, mathematics, technology and design. They will have space to work not only on their technical skills but on the communication skills, too; they get to engage their creativity, make up solutions to problems and get their team work and cooperation going. The program's head teacher is a trained LEGO Education professional from the Kiddům Education Centre.

Art activities

Children learn about classical and also non-traditional art techniques using paper, fabric, wire, plastic, etc. Lessons are associated with minidrama in order to develop imagination and involve as many senses as possible for a fuller experience of the topic. The aim is to build self-confidence, imagination and ability to see art within objects and materials. It is also focused on processing of organic material which is thus given new life.

Dance and music - Cihelná

Lessons are full of dance, music, body perception, movement and imagination games. The movement is inspired through connecting games with the body and imagination, precise understanding and empathy to the idea. We get to know our body as a musical instrument which mechanics first need to be understood and practice as if we were learning piano scales, pulling out strings of a violin or a violoncello, breathe and warm up as a flute or an oboe, listen to the surrounding instruments and then play all together whatever song we want. About sea .. About forest birds .. About far places .. About rainbow. With the help of live musical accompaniment we sing long forgotten songs, games, dances and folk traditions. We combine singing with movement and tradition with arts of today´s world.

Creative hands

An activity based on the creative, constructive and helpful ways we use our hands. A combination of art, gardening, building and maintenance projects will be the focus of each class. Children will have the opportunity to learn skills such as: using hand tools, wood and stone working, using recycled and natural materials in new ways, horticulture and fixing things. The goal for the activity is to share Mike‘s passions and skills in exploring the ways our hands can improve, express, cultivate and bring joy to the world around us.  Activity is guided in english language.
