Working methology
“Tell me and I'll forget;
show me and I may remember;
involve me and I'll understand.”
Chinese Proverb
In the Maria Montessori education method, work is divided into the following areas:
For these areas, there are dozens of demonstration exercises that are performed in a predetermined, logical fashion. Each demonstration exercise has a specific goal determined according to the child’s age, and specifies tools and materials adequate to the task. The demonstration exercises also include work with errors, which serves as a control mechanism to verify whether the given task has been mastered and, from the child’s perspective, helps to reinforce the new experience and learning.
